KITADA (2026)
KITADA is a new choreographic work by Marga Alfeirão that explores female desire and eroticism, as well as intergenerational connections between women. Inspired by works such as Sister Outsider (Audre Lorde), Sisters of the Yam (bell hooks) and O Desejo dos Outros (Bia Galvão), the project creates a space of listening and visibility for female bodies that have historically been silenced. It questions the repression of the erotic and affirms the importance of collective care among women.
The piece subverts patriarchal symbols — most notably the car — transforming them into vehicles for listening and expression. Through dance, spoken word and public performances, women aged between 45 and 65 become protagonists in the construction of desire — both as subjects and objects — in a political and artistic gesture of self-representation.

Marga Alfeirão / Influenced by dance genres and sonic textures emerging from the African diaspora that permeates Lisbon’s social fabric, Marga Alfeirão has developed a distinctive choreographic language — hybrid, sensual and assertive — that actively reclaims female subjectivity while creating visibility for lesbian sensualities and dissident bodies. Her work embraces pleasure as a form of resistance and a means of rewriting normative narratives surrounding the body and femininity. Her first work, LOUNGE, a lesbian lap dance duet, proposes a deconstruction of the performance of gaze and desire, subverting traditional dynamics of seduction and reinscribing them through perspectives of shared intimacy and empowerment. In her new creation, KITADA, supported by the 4th edition of Project CASA, Marga deepens this investigation through a choreographic approach that explores female desire and eroticism, the affective and embodied transmissions between generations of women, and the memories inscribed within the body. Materiais Diversos will accompany the production of KITADA from 2026 to 2028, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to artistic practices that expand the boundaries of dance, performativity and the representation of bodies.
